Equipping the non-state higher educational institution “UGMK Technical University” with the automated control systems laboratory.
The activities performed resulted in creation of complete set of automated systems laboratory facilities which includes almost all structural elements making up a “Digital company” and being an essential condition for building the society of the future. The specialists of “ASC” company executed the following works:
- development of technical specifications as per the Customer’s order;
- development of working documentation;
- development of methodological support (laboratory operations manual);
- software development;
- electric equipment supply;
- erection and commissioning works.
The set of laboratory facilities includes 10 PLC test desks of different manufacturers (OVEN, SIEMENS, SCHNEIDER, MITSUBISHI, AD). Each desk represents a sufficiently complete self-contained automation system, which includes PLC, operator panel-based visual display system, PC-based workstation, control board with pushbuttons, potentiometers and lamps, as well as all appropriate switching equipment and uninterrupted power supply. The laboratory facilities also include network equipment cabinet and servers; the two of the servers can be used as redundant ones.
All PLC test desks and auxiliary workstations are networked via Ethernet and along with the servers build up a fully-featured multi-functional automation system that allows for demonstration and debugging of programs developed by the students or testing of new software / hardware solutions.
The MES system, designed by CJSC “ASC” and implemented on basis of the equipment supplied, is a constituent part of this project.
The laboratory facilities also include a working test desk, equipped with sensors and actuating units, which simulates a realistic production process and which can be connected to any of ten PLC test desks available. It is also possible to connect sensors and peripheral devices to PLC desks.
The project encompasses the 3D technological models, developed jointly with contracting organization “NK Master”. The 3D models are the visual and mathematical models of three processing facilities, being involved in the production process at industrial sites of “UGMK-Holding”. The 3D models allow the students to debug the machinery control program written for PLC, while attaining the optimal technological parameters and monitoring the emergency situations.
The laboratory facilities also include a remote-access system, which along with a video surveillance system enables working with the test desks even when one is outside the laboratory premises!
