Modernization up-dating of pipe facing line EMAG.
Automatic line EMAG is intended for facing (thread cutting) of oil and gas pipes. It is equipped with four NC machines of MSC25 type and transfer mechanisms. Control of all mechanisms is performed via PLC controller according to the specific program.
The purpose of modernization updating of automatic pipe-threading line «EMAG» was replacement of obsolete and worn-out electrical equipment and automatic control systems without sacrificing the field of application and without degradation of nameplate data of the equipment in use.
The following activities were performed as part of the project:
- — replacement of numerical control system by SINUMERIK 840D SL with digital control support actuators and replacement of main drive SINAMICS S120 (1 package per each pair of machines);
- — replacement of DC motors of spindles by asynchronous electric motors;
- — replacement of DC tool head travel motors by servomotors;
- — replacement of electric motors of pipe feeder to machine assembly;
- — replacement of operator panel and secondary control panel per each pair of machines;
- — use of SIMATIC S7-300 controller for control of inter-machine mechanization;
- — placement of control equipment into two cabinets (one cabinet per each pair of machines) with forced heat transfer and air conditioning system;
- — replacement of all cable products, optical and inductive sensors;
- — replacement of light fixtures inside the machines and external light fixtures by the LED ones;
- — replacement of motor of lubrication station.
Combined with SINAMICS drives and extension to automation system SIMATIC S7-300 SINUMERIK 840D SL makes up a digital overall system suited, first and foremost, for all complex processing tasks and characteristic of high dynamics and accuracy. SINUMERIK 840D SL unites in one NCU module the tasks of numerical control, PLC and communication. High-performance NCU multiprocessor module after being installed using DRIVE-CLIQ bus is integrated with digital SINAMICS drives.
The implemented control program allows operating both all of the four machines or a pair of machines, on different sides of the line, as the operator chooses. This permits, in its turn, removing out of service for repair, where necessary, a pair of machines only and operating the line at 50 % load.
