Electric traction drive for trams.
Ust-Katav railway car building works has delivered 71 pieces of low-floor tram model 71-628-01 to be operated in the city of Chelyabinsk. Tram cars model 71-628-01 have a low floor height. Transport vehicles are equipped with intelligent system of a driver’s condition control. The cars can be operated using a multiple-unit control, while being made up of two or three pieces, interconnected and controlled from a single console.
The traction and auxiliary electric equipment for trams was developed and produced by JSC «ASC».
The acceptance tests of the car have revealed the following strong points of «ASC» equipment:
- — 45 % lower weight as compared to equipment from other manufacturers;
- — traction drive operation without the use of motor speed sensors;
- — individual drive of axles;
- — complete absence of jolts and jerks during acceleration and deceleration;
- — high dynamic response, exceeding the GOST requirements 8802 by 5 % during acceleration and by 25-30 % during deceleration.
