Upgrading of control system for electric drives of exit side of continuous-pickling line in central control unit.
The engineers of “ASC” company have completed start-up and adjustment activities on upgrading the control system for electric drives of exit side of the line and also on upgrading the ancillary systems of the line (coil-heating furnace, butt-welding machine).
The upgraded control system for electric drives of exit side of continuous-pickling line was implemented on basis of ”Siemens” equipment with the use of reinstalled thyristor converters Sinamics DCM, as well programmable controller Simatic S7-400, installed during modernization of level 1 automation system. The control system for electric drives of exit side was integrated with the level 1 control system using PROFINET connection.
In addition to the existing IBA PDA level 1 system, the ibaBM-PN monitoring module, connected to IBA PDA server via a separate 32 Mbit ibaFLEX optical communication channel, was installed into the PROFINET segment for electric drives of exit side. Using the ibaFOB board, additionally installed into the server, this module records the status of main variables of regulating system of each thyristor converter.
While upgrading the ancillary systems of the line, the control system of coil-heating furnace was integrated with the control system of the line, with all of the control functions being implemented in PLC of ingoing side of continuous-pickling line. The burners’ and flame control is managed using a control box by “Kromschroeder” company.
The furnace heating control system is complemented with the means for displaying the status of equipment in operating mode and transmits data to the overall control system of the line. At the visualization station of ingoing control post the screen forms were created for the purpose of furnace control, with the ability to manually enter and adjust the job settings. The trends and equipment status messages were added to the existing visualization system of continuous-pickling line.
While upgrading the ancillary systems of the line, the butt-welding machine’s control system was integrated with the control system of the line, with all of the control functions being implemented in PLC of ingoing side of continuous-pickling line.
