Integrated modification of «Quarto – A1» cold-strip mill.
The mill manufactured by Achenbach company was put into commission in the beginning of the 2000s and was never subject to renovation since then. The specialists of JSC ASC have performed an integrated modification of the mill. Such modification included the following activities:
- — replacement of all hydraulic equipment, including pumping units, hydraulic valve panels of auxiliary mechanisms and a hydraulic screwdown arrangement;
- — installation of a new thickness gauge (IMS manufacture) and a strip thickness gauge control system based on S7-1500;
- — installation of a shapemeter roll (Andritz manufacture) with a strip flatness control system based on S7-1500;
- — installation of a roll selective cooling header (Lechler manufacture);
- — installation of shears at the mill entry;
- — installation of a new smoothing roller on the coiler;
- — the new electric drives of a decoiler, work rolls and a coiler based on digital control modules by Siemens;
- — a new process control system and control panels using controllers S7-1500 by Siemens.
The mill is currently in continuous operation and rolls the strip with a required thickness and flatness accuracy.
