Retrofitting of telecontrol system for power supply of Bratsk aluminum plant. Retrofitting of potline currents control system.
Within several hours and without stoppage in production the conversion of outdated automated system to new equipment and new PCS7-based (version 8) process control system was successfully completed.
Server cabinet was replaced, programmable controllers’ and upper level computers’ software was updated.
The new automated control system features an enhanced fault withstandability: the project provides for “hot” backup of PCS7 servers.
All equipment was produced according to “ASC” design. Application software for Simatic PCS7 was developed, too.
As part of retrofitting some new functions for dispatching personnel were implemented. Based on relevant performance results, the works conducted got positive approval from the plant management.
