Replacement of mill 1200 coilers.
The specialists of CJSC «ASC» company together with specilalists of «UVB Technics» company, the Czech Republic and «Industrial technologies» company, the city of Saint-Petersburg have performed commissioning and put into service activities within the framework of the project for replacement of cold rolling mill 1200 coilers in shop No.16 at PJSC «VSMPO-AVISMA Corporation» in the town of Verkhyaya Salda.
«NKMZ» company supplied process equipment for coiling machines. The Czech «UVB Technics» company supplied strip flatness measuring equipment. As for «ASC» company, it acted as a supplier of electrical equipment for process control system and a performer of design, erection supervision and commissioning works. All of these activities resulted in complete replacement of coiling machines on the mill including their mechanization system: new gearboxes and coiler drums, new strip wrapping and clamping machines and new coil transfer mechanisms were installed. Hydraulics of coiler mechanization control system was totally upgraded too. Specific flatness measuring rolls were integrated into the mill. In so far as it concerns upgrading of electric drive and process control system, the converters controlling excitation of coilers’ DC machines as well as controller cabinet were installed.
Hardware part of process control system was built on basis of automation tools by «Allen Bradley» company: controller RS Logix, operator panel of PanelView Plus series. Sinamics converters were used as converter equipment for controlling excitation system of electric motors of coilers.
The activities undertaken resulted in upgrading of speed control system of the mill: rolling speed increased from 2,5 to 3,5 m\sec, strip tension — from 20 to 27 tons. At the same time, owing to integration of strip flatness measuring system, the information on off-gauge strips became available which willl allow now to improve significantly the quality of mill products.
