Retrofitting of continuous pickling line.
Continuous pickling line No.2 was put into operation in 1982. The automated control system for this line has been designed to control the process of continuous pickling of coiled hot-rolled strips of carbon steel.
Retrofitting involved replacement of control system of the line and electrical equipment of strip transfer drives. All works on equipment design and manufacture were performed by our company’s specialists. The start-up and commissioning works were performed by JSC ASC employees within the period from September, 2025 to January, 2026.
The following facilities were used as the main automation equipment:
- — controllers Siemens S7-1500,
- — DC drives «Variant DC» (ASC design and manufacture),
- — AC drives «Sinamics G120»,
- — visualization system WinCC 8.0.
The scope of equipment supplied comprised more than 400 items for a total weight of more than 50 tons.
Implementation of a new control system allowed to:
- — enable uninterrupted operation owing to withdrawal from service of deteriorated equipment of main control systems;
- — enhance unification of equipment of control systems;
- — reduce the risk of downtimes associated with failure of system elements;
- — increase the efficiency and comfort of process support and maintenance personnel;
- — solve the issue related to completing the line with the spare parts.
